Previous schools years number of discipline referrals, what was the most common referral, ISS the students are missing too much instructional time how can we give


Each grading period we come together and analyze the amount of referrals we have had as a campus, and come up with a new strategy or keep going with what we are doing.


Come up with a list of positive incentives for the students ranging from free to a small fee that we would have to pay to get.

Think about what the student’s interests are.


Review over the list, and make any changes needed.


Create a point system that will also be posted for the students to clearly know what they will earn positive points for. We will be in teams this coming year, so all the teachers on my team will have the same students. We can come together and collaborate at the end of each grading period.

We will know how well the students take to this system by how well they are also behaving in class when we don’t see them. Other students can refer them to get points at the end of class. (Must come tell the teacher)

  1. Your action research plan sounds very similar to my school’s PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) team’s goals. I hope that your action research plan is as successful as the implementation of PBIS team at my school with regards to decreasing student discipline by offering rewards, etc. One suggestion for you action research plan (above) is to add your final goal on the top of your plan.   2. I am really liking this set up...I am soooo lost when it comes to research and think that you will be a great help, just by viewing and reading your plan. This is a great job and my school also participates in the PBIS. I think you will do a mighty fine job and have a lot of great information to present.
